What is Body Contouring?

Non-invasive, non-medical body contouring is a variety of procedures that aim to reshape and improve the appearance of certain areas of the body without surgery or other invasive techniques. These treatments are designed to reduce fat, tighten skin, and improve body contours without the need for incisions, anesthesia, or significant downtime. It includes wood and metal therapy, saunas, body wraps and scrubs, light based therapies and natural and organic products designed for detox purposes. Practitioners of these treatments need training, certification and an authorized board that will regulate this field and protect both the consumer and the body contouring practitioner.

With affordable training, a defined scope of practice and a regulatory board that will advocate for these practitioners, thousands of persons will be able to enter this lucrative field of body contouring and gain a new career path while providing a healthy and in demand service to consumers.

The California Body Contouring Act will ensure that:
Consumers Are Protected by The California Body Contouring Council Rules and Regulations
Practitioners are Fingerprinted, Certified, Trained & Participate in Yearly Continuing Education

The Current Situation:
Right now, consumers and practitioners are not protected, not trained, not educated and do not have a legal, defined scope of practice to adhere to. Many practitioners are using devices and treatments that are medical in definition, many times without their knowledge. Consumers have no recourse for maltreatment, lodging complaints, inquiry into practitioner qualifications or experience and or criminal background.

The body contouring training course will be $495 and offered in 150 different languages. Applicants will under go a background fingerprint clearance check, a body contouring course and yearly continuing education in order to work as an approved California Certified Body Contouring Practitioner. Consumer complaints will be received by The California Body Contouring Council. AB2412 will enable persons 18 years of age and older to pursue a California State approved certification that signifies respect, credibility, safety and professionalism.
